It's always good to know where a town, place, or location gets it's name. Some sound exotic. others sound practical and some are just, well, obvious. Discovery Bay sits in a bay of the same name, although Christopher Columbus referred to is as "Puerto Seco" Dry Port or dry Harbour, this is because, unlike Rio Bueno Bay, it's neighbour, there are no permanent rivers flowing into Discovery Bay.
